LSNED Day 29

It was Jame's 36th birthday and Zoe was very excited about the whole thing. We had to get banners, balloons, a cake and candles. Of course she insisted on blowing the candles out - and just once but at least 3 times. James didn't get a look in.

LSNED Day 28

I heard on Radio 1 that if you put a conker or two in each room of the house, it is meant to keep the spiders away - apparently they don't like the smell of them.

Monday 28 September 2009

LSNED Day 27

Whilst at the Newbury Show last week I tasted some Morrocan Pork from a stall promoting British Pork. I took one of their recipe sheets and made it myself. It was so easy to make and yet so very tasty. It was nice to have something different to eat.

Digital Scrap Cafe - Clean and Simple Challenge No 5

Zibr sets this challenge monthly over at the Digital Scrap Cafe. This month she has challenged to make a "mozaic" type layout. I made hexagon masks and then clipped either photos or papers to them. I have used a kit called Autumn Air by Laurie's Scraps and Pure Creativity Designs.

LSNED Day 26

We love to drive down to Sandbanks and have fish and chips in the car and watch the world go by. It is so beautiful down there. We watch the boats go by and the ferry go back and forth. We treated to this lovely sunset.

LSNED Day 25

Strictly Come Dancing is back on the TV and I love it. This year the celebrities are all really good - I think it will be a good competition. Every year I sit on the sofa and admire the beautiful dancers. I wish I could dance like them - so stylish and graceful.

Digital Scrap Cafe - Template Challenge September 25th

This week we were given a really simple but effective template by Grace (Fun2Educate). I have used the gorgeous kit by Laurie's Scraps called Lil Pumpkin. I love the autumnal colours of the kit.

Friday 25 September 2009

LSNED Day 24

All week I have been trying to fight off Zoe's cold and these fabby little Lemsip pills seem to have done trick. Let's hope they continue to do so.

Thursday 24 September 2009

LSNED Day 23

I got an e-mail from Letraset with a bargain deal for the 56 new colours of Pro Markers with free pen holders. It was just too good a deal to miss out on so I treated myself to them. Aren't they gorgeous?

Wednesday 23 September 2009

LSNED Day 22

I saw this chocolate cream cake in Asdas and just really fancied it - so I bought it. It was scrummy!!! It won't help my diet but sometimes you just have to have something naughty don't you?

Quote Challenge over on Digital Scrap Cafe

It is my pleasure to be hosting this fortnight’s quote challenge over on Digital Scrap Cafe.

The weather is really changing here in the UK and Autumn is fast approaching. There are some beautiful Autumn inspired kits appearing in the digi stores and so my quote had to be autumnally inspired. I was searching the internet for a suitable quote and this just jumped out at me:
“Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile - William Cullen Bryant”

Click here to download the Word Art I have created, create a fab layout using it and post it into the Quote Challenge Gallery over at DSC. Why not treat yourself to a gorgeous new kit with lovely warm rich autumn colours from the store?
I have used the gorgeous new kit called Lil Pumpkin by Laurie’s Scraps for my layout.

There will be a prize for my favourite layout posted before 6th October.

Come on over and check out the Digital Scrap Cafe - it is a great store and forum with fabulous weekly challenges and lovely friendly people to chat to and be inspired by.

LSNED Day 21

Zoe is poorly which explains some of her grumpiness on Sunday. She sneezed all the way home from Uncle Joe's and then was awake alot in the night crying. When she gets a cold, it always goes to her chest and she gets very wheezy.
I had to work from home to look after her and I managed to convince her to have a sleep - couldn't resist taking this photo of her.

Digi Chick - Sketch Challenge 21st September

This week's template was provided by Deena Hagen. I have used the Evelyn kit by Fruit Loop Sally.
This is a photo of Zoe that I took today. Zoe has a cold and has been really poorly all day. She was asleep in our bed this afternoon and I couldn't resist sneaking a photo of her.

LSNED Day 20

We went to the Newbury Show and Zoe spotted the Big Wheel. She begged and begged to go on it. James said yes but whilst he queued to pay, I watched it. It went very fast and was obviously very high up. I thought that there would be no way she would want to stay on it once it got going - but no she absolutely loved it and giggled the whole time. She then demanded to go on the flying chairs - she is only 3! I let her go on the small ones!

Sunday 20 September 2009

LSNED Day 19

I went to visit Tina up in Southampton hospital and got a lovely cuddle with baby Isla. You would never think she is poorly - she is gorgeous! Made me feel very broody. The doctors are hoping to operate this week.

Saturday 19 September 2009

LSNED Day 18

Zoe had her first session at the pre-school for the school that she will go to when she is five - as long as we get our house in Sturminster Marshall. She had a great time. I stayed with her for the session but next week she will go by herself. I have to get her some black plimsolls as they have a PE session each week.

Digital Scrap Cafe - Template Challenge September 18th

This week we were given a scrummy template by Pure Creativity Designs (Chelcee). I have used various bits of kits all available from the store. The strings and glitter are from What An Artist by Kiki, the papers were freebies and are called Thanks a Melon and the rest is from the Love is Blue kit by She Devil Designs

Digi Chick - Scraplift September 17th

This week's challenge was set by Kara aka kperrien. She chose dst212's gallery (daniela) to lift! Her TDC gallery and Her MSA gallery. I chose Bon Bon to lift:
I have used the gorgeous Evelyn kit by Fruit Loop Sally available at the Digi Chick store.

LSNED Day 17

On my way to work I realised that I'd forgotten to bring my Sunflower Seeds and Oats Ryvita for lunch. I have these every day for lunch with Extra Light Philadelphia. I stopped at a shop to get myself some lunch, they had no Ryvita so I bought a Coronation Chicken baguette. I craved my Ryvita all day and so had them for my tea instead. Beginning to suspect that I am addicted to them.

The challenge for Spetember is create a layout following these rules:
6 flowers
5 papers
4 staples
3 photos
2 string or ribbon
1 arrow
I have the July Collaboration kit available from the Digital Scrap Cafe.

LSNED Day 16

My oldest friend has finally had her baby. She has known it was going to be a little girl, but unfortunately she also knew it was going to be born with some heart problems. She was induced on Monday morning so the hospital knew that could be prepared for the birth and any eventualities. She ended up having a C-section and the baby was born at 1.35pm weighing 8lb 2oz. I haven't heard anything since but I am hoping no news is good news!

Wednesday 16 September 2009

Digi Chick - Sketch Challenge 14th September

We were given a fab template by JubeeFish and I have used the Sweet September kit available at the Digi Chick store.

LSNED Day 15

Patrick Swayze died at the age of 57 after battling against pancreatic cancer. He was one of my idols in the 80's for his part in the film Dirty Dancing. I have lost count of the number of times I have watched this film - it has to be one of the greatest of all time!

Tuesday 15 September 2009

LSNED Day 14

Zoe was given some Snap cards for Christmas but she was too young to play then. She found them again the other day and now she is very good at playing the game. We played 3 hands before bedtime and she thrashed me, 2 games to 1.

Digital Scrap Cafe - Quote Challenge 9 September

This week's challenge was set by Momma Trish and she provided some lovely Word Art to go with the challenge.
I have used the September Colloration kit from the DSC to create my layout. I have added some string and ribbon to the frame.

Monday 14 September 2009

UK Scrappers - September Week 2

This week's challenge was set by the Scrappy Doodles Team. The requirements are
-Do some doodling (10pts)
-Include a handmade embellishment (10pts)
-Include something sparkly (5pts)
-The title should be a film title (5pts)
I have used the PS I Love You film title. My handmade embellishments are still digi but are the crocheted flowers. The papers are from the Day Dreaming kit by Madame Wing and the doodle is by Dawn Inskip.

LSNED Day 13

Zoe had a birthday party at Farmer Palmers and she spent most of her time with Edith - her best friend from nursery. They are funny to watch when they are together. Edith is a leader type character and Zoe is very happy to follow in her wake and do as instructed.

Sunday 13 September 2009

LSNED Day 12

Zoe's school trainers were a disgrace and so I decided to buy her some new ones. I just wanted some cheapy ones as they get so trashed at nursery, but when we got there she managed to chose the most expensive ones in the whole shop. They are Peppa Pig ones and she just "needed" them!

Saturday 12 September 2009

Digi Chick - Scraplift Challenge 11th September

This week we challenged to chose a layout from Nikkiepperson's gallery at the Digi Chick. I chose her beautiful layout called Sweet. I have used the Sweet September kit by Sugarplum Paperie and FruitLoop Sally which is available from the Digi Chick store.

LSNED Day 11

I have had to work 5 days this week and it made for a very long week. I like having my Fridays off as it means that I can get the housework and other things done ready for the weekend. It also gives me a chance to catch up on my scrapping. Never mind that extra money always comes in handy!

Friday 11 September 2009

Digital Scrap Cafe - Template Challenge September 11th

This week we were given a fabby template by Nicole. I have used a lovely kit called Love is Blue by She Devils Designs which can be purchased from the Digital Scrap Cafe store here - check it out as it is truly gorgeous.
I am also using this layout for the UKS weekly challenge.

LSNED Day 10

I don't know what is happening to my weight, it seems to be piling on no matter how little I eat, but I have discovered these really scrummy jelly pots. The best thing is that they have less than 10 calories per pot and yet they are delicious.

Thursday 10 September 2009

LSNED Day 9

The price of petrol seems to be spiralling upwards - unleaded is now £1.04 per litre. Tesco are running an offer with a 5p off a litre coupon but it still makes it expensive to fill our large car up - £53.35

Wednesday 9 September 2009

LSNED Day 8

I seem to be so behind on lots of my digi scrapping and trying to do this daily challenge is quite hard so I have found that a really good solution is to bring my laptop into work and do the LSNED pages in my lunchbreak.

Tuesday 8 September 2009

Digital Scrap Cafe - Scraplift 7th September

I am hosting this week's challenge and have chosen the enormously talented Gisele Christina's gallery. The challenge can be found here.
Gisele's gallery is absolutely wonderful and it was hard to select one layout to lift. I chose her layout called Se Divertindo
Here is my layout. I have used elements only from kits available from the Digital Scrap Cafe store - My Mother (May Collaboration kit), Rainy Afternoon by Minicake Designs, Watch Me Grow by Laurie's Scraps, Birthday Girl (June Collaboration kit) and By the Sea by Minicake Designs
Love Lies by Adele Parks is a fab book. It has kept me up reading gone midnight for the last 2 nights. The beginning is a real fairy tale romance - a story that would be great if it happened to you, however I have just got to the part where, the fairy tale may not be all it appears to be. A fantastic read and a little bit steamy!!!

Monday 7 September 2009

Digi Chick - Sketch Challenge 7th September

This week we were given a fabby template by Kara Perrien and I have used various elements from the Digi Chick store. I have used papers from Lottie Dottie kit by Amy Sumrall, flowers from the Garden Party kit by Elise's Pieces, the rope swirl is from the Cherry Delight and the sheep is a freebie from an old kit.

LSNED Day 6

Our new house will have a big garden and so we are thinking of keeping a few chickens. We have been doing some research into what it entails. We are thinking of 3 chickens and Zoe wants to call them Charlie, Lola and Soren Lorenson.

Sunday 6 September 2009

Digi Chick - May Workshop - August Layouts

Continuing on the Year in Review project over on Digi Chick's forum, here are my August pages. I have used the Butterflies in Heaven collaboration kit by Dani Alencar and Pamela Donnis.

LSNED Day 5

We went to the Dorchester Show and there a wasp flying near my face, so I swatted it away but I must have hit him right on his bum as I got stung. It hurt instantly and my finger swelled up and throbbed all day. This photo was taken about 6 hours later and so the swelling had gone down quite a bit. It is still hurting the next day! I got my revenge this morning as one flew into our lounge and I killed it!

Friday 4 September 2009

LSNED Day 4

I seem to get so hungry in the evenings and I am so desparately trying to lose weight (not that any is coming off!) and so I have found out that a small bowl of dry Frosties makes a really scrummy snack.

Digi Chick - Sketch Challenge 31st August

This fab template was provided by Jennamy82. I have used a beautiful kit called Call Her Beauty by Dani Alencar which is available at Digi Chick.

LSNED Day 3

Reading Zoe's bedtime story is usually Daddy's job but he was late home from work so I had to do it. Normally it takes forever and that is just Zoe chosing which book she wants. But she picked 2 books really quickly and it was actually really enjoyable to spend a quiet 5 minutes with her.

Digital Scrap Cafe - Template Challenge September 4th

This week we were given a fantastic template by Michele Stone Designz and I have used the fabby September Collaboration kit available at the Digital Scrap Cafe.

Thursday 3 September 2009

LSNED Day 2

I bathed Zoe yesterday and as usual I had to read her bath book to her - The Rainbow Fish. As I was reading it to her, she was saying all the words as I was saying them. I realised that she knows this book off by heart. Mind you we do have to read it to her everytime she has a bath.

Wednesday 2 September 2009

LSNED Day 1

We have had the offer accepted on the house and so as long as nothing goes wrong, this will be our new home soon.
I have used this as my first lesson for Learn Something New Everyday
